"My mother is an artist and she encouraged me to hone my skills.  I have taken art classes, and workshops. I have studied artists and art books. Winslow Homer is my inspiration because he was a wonderful self-taught artist. My first painting was a study of Homer's "Breezing Up," when I was in high school. It still hangs in my Mother's front room. Di Vinci, Renoir, and Sargent are several more of my favorite artists. Watercolor is my main medium, but I also enjoy oils and pastels.

I love capturing emotions and the human spirit in my art. I live in an amazing place where I can hike, kayak, and snowboard in the Mt. Hood area and Columbia River Gorge. My love for people and the landscape is what feeds my art. I could not have one without the other. I continue to work to improve my skills by focusing on good design, composition, and story. My inner focus is to follow my heart and paint things that inspire me. I believe all these things will help me to be  the best painter I can be.           Member of Watercolor Society of Oregon, Oregon Society of Artists, and Wy’East art guild
